Stephan Ruby

Stephan, a German national, has had a 20-year long career in both the automotive financial services and insurance industry. He brings a wealth of expertise from both industries from a strategic, operational and commercial point-of-view, which he uses to develop and grow Wrisk across Europe.

His career started in 2001 as a Business Consultant in the Financial Services practice at Accenture. End of 2002, he joined Volkswagen in the financial services unit (VWFS). From 2002 to 2006, he was responsible for their Business Development Insurance unit before he became Head of the International Insurance Markets division of VWFS in 2006.  He joined Allianz Group in 2010 where he was responsible for the business development and commercial activities of the Global Automotive division. In 2015, he was nominated Chief Sales Officer Automotive inside Allianz Partners, a position he held until joining Wrisk in January 2024.

Stephan has established sustainable and successful (global) partnerships between major automotive OEMs and global insurance providers during his career (incl. the set up of an insurance JV between an OEM and an insurer in Germany). Both on the OEM and on the insurer side, he has been on the forefront of the ideation and development of embedded insurance solutions in the automotive segment. He is a highly respected expert in his segment and an experienced leader with an international background and education.
